Dances of the Himalayan Angels
Every year towards the end of October, a Hindu festival called, Tihar arrives bringing joy and love between member of the families throughout the country in Nepal. During three day long Tihar festival all the brothers get Tika on their foreheads from their sisters and unite their spirits in peace, love and harmony.

About the Author

I was born in a little village, Ulleri, in Nepal. It is a village with about 110 stone houses grouped together on a steep hill surrounded by terraced fields. It sits at 6,700 fee t elevation, a few hours walk west of Pokhara, the closest town. Our village sings with the stream down below. It snows during the winter and the monsoon's heavy rains fall during the summer...

Life was very simple in our village. We grew our own food and lived happily. We shared what we had and lived with the kindness around us. Growing up in the village I learned to respect all forms of life by watching the nature change her colors throughout the year. While the monsoon's rain poured, I smiled and walked up and down our village with rain all over my body. I believed that the rain was part of my own spirit. According to the season I ran around our village mountains and ate wild fruits with respect. That's how I learned that everything I needed to live in this life was all around me...
